There will soon be a new spot to wine and dine at the Mailbox, as the city’s premier lifestyle and shopping destination has announced the opening of Bottles in time for Christmas.

Bottles press release

Inspired by Bordeaux, one of France’s most popular wine regions, Bottles Birmingham is a brand new concept that will bring an extensive range of over 300 wines, ports and Champagnes to Birmingham’s canalside. Served by the bottle or glass, guests also have the opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art wine dispensing machines, offering a unique wine-tasting experience.

Whilst wine remains the focus at the heart of the Bottles experience, the bar will also serve a selection of bottled craft beers, cocktails, spirits, hot drinks and soft drinks, alongside an all-day food menu. Featuring a selection of contemporary dishes that focus on casual, social dining, like tapas, pintxos and sharing boards, you’ll also be able to enjoy brunch, afternoon tea and late-night nibbles seven days a week.

Bottles Birmingham, set to open at the former Bar Epernay site on Thursday 1st December, will be four times bigger than its sister venue in Worcester, and will also feature a specially designed club room for private events and parties. With large group tables, as well as smaller, intimate layouts for couples, Bottles Birmingham will help to make the exclusive wine world more accessible to everyone.

Speaking of the launch of Bottles Birmingham, founder Richard Everton said: “Following on from the incredible success of our first Bottles Wine Bar in Worcester we are absolutely delighted to be bringing this really exciting new wine and food concept to somewhere as prestigious as the Mailbox in Birmingham. Offering over 40 wines and fortified wines by the glass, this should be the main destination in Birmingham for all wine lovers”.

Melanie Taylor, head of retail relations at Milligan, joint owners of the Mailbox, said: “Bottles Birmingham will be a hugely exciting new addition for the Mailbox later this year.

“With its unique approach to wine, Bottles perfectly complements the existing portfolio of bars and restaurants here at the Mailbox, and is further testament to the Mailbox’s reputation as a premier shopping and lifestyle destination.”

The Mailbox is also gearing up to welcome restaurant, bar and deli, Tom’s Kitchen to its Level 2 Urban Room just in time for Christmas.

Founded by one of the UK’s most acclaimed and inspirational award-winning chefs, Tom Aikens, Tom’s Kitchen Birmingham will offer all-day dining, seven days a week, and will serve British favourites and comfort food classics in a relaxed and informal setting.

Caffé Nero will also open at the Mailbox later this month, as the European brand opens its fifth coffee house in Birmingham. Serving premium Italian coffee and food, the new café will be found on Level 3 of the Mailbox, next to the Advanced offices and opposite the BBC entrance.
