Reflections on work experience

Charlotte

I learnt many things which I intend to take with me into my career journey. Specifically, I expanded on vital skills such as effectively managing my time and being organised when faced with tasks to complete. My insight of PR as a whole is one thing that I would say I learnt more and more about, with coming into the office on Monday morning not knowing what PR was and leaving with a much greater knowledge, understanding and interest in the world of PR.

I have particularly enjoyed the experience and being part of the office dynamic at Rewired and being part of a team that I know is there to help when needed.

I have learnt a lot of things that I am going to take with me into my next steps for finishing sixth form, going to university and eventually the next steps into my career and I am thankful for the opportunity that I have had in the work experience placement.

Sydney

I have worked on so many different tasks during my work experience including how to draft creative mailers and engaging social posts, the importance of keeping up to date with the news and relevant trends in the media, and the difference between approaches in B2B and B2C PR.

I am very grateful for this work experience opportunity as it has given me a great insight into what PR actually entails. I would 100% consider PR as an option after sixth form whether that be in a degree apprenticeship or studying at university.

The tasks I enjoyed completing the most were drafting social posts for Rewired and the monthly PR roundup. These tasks allowed me to be flexible and creative.

After this work experience and with the help of the Rewired team, I feel a lot more confident to go into a PR related work setting. I have realised no two days are the same which appeals to me as you always have something new to work on whether that be with the same client or a new client. And my final takeaway is to always be reading the news!
