Wolverhampton Art Gallery is starting off the New Year with a line-up of exciting events for artists and art-lovers. To celebrate the ‘Pop: Jann Haworth’ exhibition, which runs until 10 April 2010, the gallery is hosting a series of events that will explore the work of one of the world’s most prolific pop artists.
Her first solo show in the UK since 1972, Jann Haworth’s ‘Pop’ exhibition features a collection of her work from the early 1960s through to the present day. The floor-based installation includes her iconic 3D still-life piece Donuts, Coffee Cups & Comics (1962) and celebrated works such as Frank (1963), a life-size sculpture restored expressly for the Wolverhampton show. The exhibition also includes the Old Lady (1962), which featured on the cover of the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper LP, which was designed by Haworth with her then-husband Peter Blake.
